My whole life has always revolved around food. When I was 15 I had to start following a gluten free diet, and every job since then has been in the food and health realm – from cooking, to serving, to menu planning, to managing employees in the food industry. I graduated with my BS in nutrition at Cal Poly SLO, and am now pursuing my MS at CSULB. While my interests originally were focused on dietary restrictions, I now find that my passions entail helping others create a positive relationship with food, and staying healthy doing it!
I believe that all food can fit into your diet in moderation. A diet plan or juice cleanse is a temporary solution to a long term problem – which is why setting small, attainable goals (i.e. choose whole wheat bread for your sandwich) is the more successful route. I believe making slow, realistic and attainable changes in our day to day lives in order to eventually develop new, long term habits is a successful way to create a positive and enjoyable relationship with food while also living an overall more healthy lifestyle.
